Truth: I’m in love with the Marvel Universe. I’m in love with the Marvel Universe because it brings me back to my childhood when I’d make believe that I was half Ninja Turtle, half G.I. Joe. I’m in love with the Marvel Universe so much that I probably need to have a son ASAP so I can stop dragging my wife to see Thor (although, she doesn’t seem to put up the same kind of fight when Chris Hemsworth is involved. I’m in love with the Marvel Universe and Kendrick Lamar and Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler that I’ve had opening night tickets for Black Panther for weeks now.
I’m also in love with the Chicago Bears. I’m in love with the Chicago Bears because it also brings me back to my childhood when I’d make believe that I was half Brian Urlacher, half James “Big Cat” Williams. I’m in love with the Chicago Bears so much that I probably need to have a son ASAP so I can stop making my wife nap-watch every Sunday. I’m in love with the Chicago Bears and Mitch Trubisky and Ryan Pace and Matt NAgy that I’ve worn my color rush #10 jersey multiple times since Christmas. So, when I saw that these two worlds collided in a fan made teaser trailer, I absolutely lose my marbles:
That frame of Trubisky at the end make something in my pants move a little. You know it did for you, too. Don’t lie.
Lie: I’m done with Mock Drafts. I can’t take it anymore. Every where I look, there is another Mock Draft with a player I don’t want being taken by either the Bears or the Bulls. All I want in this world is for the Bears to somehow get Bradley Chubb or Quinton Nelson, yet everyone and their mothers have Ryan Pace drafting his second wide receiver with his first round pick.
Same goes for the Bulls. All I want in this world is for the Bulls to somehow tank into a Top-5 pick in hopes of landing Jaren Jackson Jr. or Michael Porter Jr., yet Sports Illustrated’s latest mock has #DougPax taking Wendell Carter Jr.
No seriously, take a look!
8. BULLS | WENDELL CARTER JR., C, DUKE | FR.
Height: 6’10” | Weight: 260 | Age: 19 | Last: 16
Expect the Bulls to focus on the frontcourt in this range and find a player who fits with Lauri Markkanen. Carter is viewed by scouts as a well-rounded prospect, and his high skill level and IQ make him a nice piece. Marvin Bagley has been more hyped but Carter has arguably been Duke’s best player, and certainly its most consistent performer. He’s a terrific rebounder and versatile offensive player who should be able to add consistent three-point range to his game. His star upside could be limited by a lack of elite lift, but he’s certainly athletic enough to make his game work in the NBA. He’s established himself as a potential Top 10 selection with his play.
I’m done with Mock Drafts. They hurt too much. They make me angry. They are full of clickbait nonsense and all of it is utter gossip and sports trash.
Truth: The Cubs mock-up of the painting of Barack Obama sitting in a chair surrounded by ivy/plants/flowers was well played.
Now, if he’d stop playing around already and get a group together to buy the Bulls from Jerry Reinsdorf that’d be greattttttttt.
